| Custom Interior Painting Fun and whimsical designs for any room in your home Julie Schantz, owner and artist, will consult with you to turn your walls into customized works of art. She specializes in painting murals for children's rooms, infant nurseries, bathrooms, and even furniture.
The Funshine Story In 1999 Julie offered to paint a room in her cousin's house as a gift for her new baby. Little did she know that with that one room, she would be embarking on a whole new career. Word of mouth travelled fast and people who had seen the room asked if Julie would do theirs as well. Funshine Rooms was formed in 2000, and before she knew it she was painting everything from living rooms and bathrooms, to bedrooms and playrooms, as well as wood furniture and ceramic sinks. When Julie had her own baby, she naturally painted her room as well. From her fine arts background and her experience with children, Julie has a knack for making a room feel special. Background Julie received a Bacherlor's Degree in Fine Art Photography in 1992 and a Master's of Science Degree in Art Education in 1995. After teaching art in Dade County Public Schools in Miami, FL Julie ran a successful Mehndi (Henna tattoo) business. Julie recently moved with her family to Asheville, North Carolina and is currently accepting new clients in the Western North Carolina region. My
daughter is having "our" first grandchild so I contacted
Julie about painting some flowers on the baby's wall to match her
bedding. WOW! It was beyond our expectations...she is so creative...we
have butterflies too! Julie is also delightful to have around...
and is very neat in her work. Whoever hires her won't be disappointed.
I
showed Julie the linens I had bought for my baby girl (due august
2004) and shared some thoughts I had but she did the rest. She took
the flowers from the bedding and scattered them all over the walls,
adding one large flower and some beautiful vines. She then added
fabulous butterflies all around. The room is warm, girlie and more

I love what you painted in my bathroom. The way you picked up the
pattern of flowers to match my duvet cover is great. It's the perfect
"pick-me-up" for a not so exciting room and it makes me
